Privacy notice
Last updated 20 September 2026
This notice explains how Nous Forge Ltd ("Nous Forge", "we", "us") handles personal data in connection with this website, www.nous-forge.com. It is written to meet our obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This notice covers the website only. Our applications, when released, will each carry their own privacy policy describing the data that application handles.
Who we are
Nous Forge Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here.
Registered in England & Wales, company number 17452327.
Registered office: 5th Floor, 167–169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF, United Kingdom.

What we collect
This website is deliberately minimal. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, and has no tracking pixels, embedded social widgets or user accounts. We do not build profiles of visitors.
Personal data reaches us in only two ways:
- Server logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub records standard technical request data, which can include your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. This is generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and abuse prevention; we do not use it to identify individuals and we do not have access to it in a form that lets us do so.
- Email you send us. If you write to us at the address above, we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, your email address and the content of your message.
Third parties
Two third parties may receive data as a technical consequence of your visit:
- GitHub, Inc. hosts and serves this website. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- Google LLC serves the typefaces used on this site via Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. See the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes.
Why we process it, and on what basis
We process request data under our legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping the website available, secure and working correctly. We process correspondence under our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, or where relevant to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
How long we keep it
Hosting logs are retained by our hosting provider according to their own retention schedule. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, normally no more than 24 months, unless it forms part of a contract or we are required to keep it longer.
International transfers
GitHub and Google are based in the United States and may process data outside the UK. Such transfers rely on the safeguards those providers maintain, including the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to receive it in a portable form where that right applies. To exercise any of these, write to hello@nous-forge.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the home page.
